Karina Cheung MSW, RSW
Social Worker | Psychotherapist
I am a Registered Social Worker who sees therapy as a safe space to reconnect with yourself.
My work is grounded in the belief that each person's experiences are unique, and that meaningful change can begin when we have a compassionate space to explore what is happening within and around us.
My therapy experiences remind me of the importance of human connection — having a space where we can make sense of what we are carrying and be met with understanding rather than judgment. These values continue to guide me in my work as a therapist, as I walk alongside each person in their own process of understanding and growth.
I have a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating
grief, loss, and bereavement
This interest is informed in part by my own experience of navigating grief in a cultural context where conversations about death and dying may be difficult.
I also support individuals experiencing
My approach is
- holistic
- person-centered
- empowering
I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment where you can explore your emotions, thoughts, and lived experiences at your own pace. I tailor my approach to your unique needs, strengths, and circumstances, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.
You may come to therapy feeling
- overwhelmed
- disconnected
- uncertain
- or simply knowing that something does not feel quite right
You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Wherever you are, we can begin there.
Together, we can create space to better understand what you are experiencing, make sense of what you are carrying, and explore what may help.
